Listen Before You Build

I'm so wiped out this week. When I looked at why, the answer was pretty simple. I was going too fast.

My head was full of things to build, and I wanted every one of them done yesterday. So I pushed. Then I pushed some more and started to wonder where on earth I'd find the hours. (Spoiler, there weren't any.)

Around the middle of the week, I had to slow down. At first I was bummed about it. But once I stopped building and started listening, I learned more in a few days than all those builds would have taught me. My shoulders came down from around my ears, too.

It's just like this in our business.

When a membership or course feels stuck, most of us do what I did. We build more. We add a new module or another bonus and hope that fixes it.

Most of the time, our members need us to stop and listen first. They're already telling us what they need. It shows up in the questions they ask over and over and in the emails sitting in our inbox.

So here's my invite for you this week. Before you build the next thing, take one week to listen. Read through your comments and emails, and jot down any question you see more than once. Then build from there.

I'll be doing the same thing right along with you. And probably taking a nap.
